I have written before about the wonderful piers in my constituency.

But don’t just take my word for it. Tripadvisor recently named Clacton Pier one of the best amusement parks in Europe.

More precisely it has been recognised in the firm’s Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best for 2025, the highest level of the awards they give out.

The Best of the Best winners are among the top one per cent of listings around the world on TripAdvisor and Clacton Pier is one of five locations in the UK to make it to the top 25.

It was also ranked 11th place in the Amusement and Water Parks category out of more than 1,000 sites across Europe. A remarkable achievement in itself.

Unlike other awards whose winners are chosen by a panel of judges or through an application process, the winners of these awards are based on the genuine feedback of visitors who have left a first-hand review in the last 12 months.

It’s a fantastic accomplishment and is a credit to all the hard work that the team at the pier do and reflects the great love that so many from near and far have for it.

The owners of the pier also deserve praise for the investment of time, energy and money they have made into it to help bring back the Great British seaside despite the prevailing economic headwinds.

The pier has also recently been shortlisted in the UK Theme Park Awards 2025 which take place in September. It is up against 11 other sites in the Best Seaside Parks category so fingers tightly crossed for them.
